call them
nuclearmedicinetech, call them and ask about the status of your application. With any luck, they might even conduct the interview right then and there (happened to me), or they will let you know how much longer you need to wait.

Saba vs other schools
Hey all
I was recently accepted into Saba for sept 2008 (undergrad sci-2.9, cum- 3.2, graduate science- 3.9; MCAT- 34Q; research, co-author, volunteer, etc) and was wondering if anyone has done research into the pros/cons between european schools and caribbean schools. From what ive heard is that caribbean schools are mainly geared towards getting into north american medical systems. But has anyone heard anything about European schools (I am looking at Charles University in prague and Semmelweis in Budapest) and how a degree from Europe compares with a Caribbean degree when looking for a residency? Also was admitted to SGU and Ross and am torn between the 5 aforementioned schools. Anyone have any advice?? |

Interview
Hi. My 1st post. I applied for Sept entry and in between finals I rec'd an email to set up an interview. The 1st available interview is mid May.
My stats are 3.7ish GPA Honours Biomed and 30N MCAT. We all know that the N does not meet the cutoff at schools in Ont and I have no desire for Masters and rewrite the beast to get a Q or R in WS. |

It really depends what you're looking for. SGU is the most renowned medical college, but SABA has an exceptional track record. Price wise, do SABA, but do realize that this means that you're confined to a 5 mile square hunk of hilly volcanic rock with about 1400 non medical people there. Also, SABA has a good track record in Canada, if that's of any significance to you. With a 34, why aren't you applying for US or Canadian medical colleges? Oh, and European schools are ridiculously expensive, like 60K a year tuition type expensive (at least the ones that offer you ease in residencies, such as the ones in the UK and Ireland). |

I mean, other than the fact that it's mostly covered with lush tropical rain forest, provides countless stunning vistas of the Caribbean and surrounding islands, and that it has such rich biodiversity that the New York Botanical Gardens has an entire web site and research project dedicated to it. I won't even start on how nice the diving is here. And there is a nice, cool breeze nearly every day of the year. Yes, it's small and quiet, but take it from someone who lived on a flat, hot, grungy, overpopulated island in the Bahamas for three years: Saba is absolutely beautiful. -Travis PS, pilot4life, I know you weren't trying to slam the island! I just had to take the opportunity to give it a plug. I love this place. :-)
