Quick questions
I am a 23 year old Bachelor of Nursing ' 07 grad from Newfoundland, Canada. I currently work as an ER nurse in the major trauma centre in our province. I have a decent GPA (3.5/4.0) and my MCAT was a 22Q. In addition to my BN I did a diploma based focus in Applied bio-eithics. I have a ton of EC's and volunteer work (most notably being VP of a national student organization L’AÉSSCa - L'Association des Étudiants des Sciences de la Santé du Canada). I also have a great deal of research work and employment across all aspects of health care...i was waitlisted at one school in Canada and found out yesterday that i did not get in, so i am looking at maybe applying for med at Saba in january....here are my questions: 1. How important are the physics and other pre-req's? I talk to some schools and they say that as long as you have a bachelors you are in the clear.....currently i have no physics but i do have a semester of chem, biochem, microbiology, 6-7 advanced biology courses, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology. Shouldn't my experience (both clinically and from an educational standpoint) suffice? 2. Do i stand a competitive chance at a school like Saba? Thanks for all you help in advance! Steve Quigley |

did you not notice that saba has a sticky for "what are my chances?" too? you really should post in the existing threads here as well as AUC.

since you havent signed off for good yet yet, I should point out that slurs insults and flames are not permitted by the terms of use you agreed to. This also means not striving to achieve american levels of snottiness in posts to other users. this goes for everyone. thanks.

funny i find most of my canadaian classmates to be much more observant and repectful (so much for sterotyping!!) before you spam every fora with the same question about "what is my chance" and that somehow your situation is so unique that it can't go in the designated threads- you should look at the other threads that may answers some of your basic questions, THEN ask questions in the appropriate places.

steve if you are planning on going to any of the schools whose forums you posted under youll probably be doing rotations in america so i would get that hatred out before that time. because from what i read the affiliated hospitals arent in the friendliest areas.

Don't let one sharp answer - mess you up dude in your quest to be a MD - if you are going into medicine you will meet many sharp mouthed MD's and other people equally as cross with you. Pain makes a person crabby. Don't be so sensitive! As for the classic American vs. Canadian stuff - with a name like Rokshana - I don't think she is from our side of the pond originally.
