Around the school ... not really... There is like family deli... they have hamburgers and others..... but you will get used to that. There is also Antique Inn... but well you wont have time to eat there.... unless you are in first semester.. The caf.... you will get used to that food also...
510 points There's also mystore for lunch, the chinese restaurant and christinas down by the hospitalish, and Manny's cafe under Matthews.
The food on SABA is descent... Of course not like back home, but you'll get used to it. My expericence... I thought the quality restaurants were Queens Garden and My Kitchen. In Too Deep and Scouts are not bad. (of course none of these are in the bottom... Queens is close though)

510 points chef boyardee is my new best friend.
In general, you are obviously limited on the variety of food on Saba. Last night I had an excellent steak at the EcoLodge (opposite side of the island from school). The Red Coconut Curry Shrimp there is excellent as well. But, if you are looking for something around campus you ARE limited - especially if you are concerned about something during lunchtime. There just isn't much time at lunch to have a great lunch. If you were to get out of your 2nd class of the day a little early, you'd have time to walk over to Kenny's (same building as Matthew's dorms). I haven't eaten there yet, but everyone says the food is great. If you are living close to school and want something good for dinner, get the Lobster Thermadore at Family Deli. It's only $14ish which is great compared to $31 on St. Maarten.
in general, do most people cook in the dorms or eat at the cafeterias/restaurants on a daily basis? and how expensive is the food at the cafeterias - for example a salad or plate of pasta or a chicken sangwich?
510 points Dorm? SABA has dorms?![]()
What's your preference? Do you want to eat out or cook? You'll basically do both.
At Matthews Dorm, you're not allowed toasters or hot plates (but I've seen 'em around). They do have microwaves though.
At Hillside, I recall they have a toaster & a microwave and they weren't too strict. One guy had a Stir Fry Pan.
....moral of the story = bring a foreman grill.
The Cafeteria is not bad. Avg cold meal $4 and hot meals $4-6... except on Fridays when you want the good stuff.
Yes.
510 points Are the dorms on SABA good? Can you live there entire time you are on the island? How much they costs? Where I can read about that?
Thanks
