Thx man. It's a great help.

After reading it, I understood that you only need the BRS books for each semester's courses, where do you buy those BRS books?? (Aside from some Anatomy extra help)

Thx

Kabbi

You can buy them at any major book stores including university ones.
Pretty reasonable price.

Few questions.

WOW! I did get through reading the whole thing and I cant beleive that I did lol..But thanks a lot aspiring...

After reading it, I have some residual questions

1. Since it is more convinient to print out word docs and write on them, would you suggest that a tablet pc will be more convinient?
2. Are there "vista" issues? should I remove vista and install XP before coming?
3.How is the internet availability and speed both in school and dorms? Is it cable internet or dial up?
4.Swimming, hiking.. hmm. Is there a gym? How is it, if there is.?
5.What is your current class size? and how is the general attitude of your class mates (helping friendly/cut-throat competitiveness/..etc)
6.I heard from a saba student who later transferred to ross that the exams at saba are quite "easy" and dont prepare you that well for usmle. That got me pretty concerned. Any words on it?

I know I wana ask more! .. But may be I will save it for later

Thanks in advance.

1) Tablet PC is an interesting idea, I havent seen anyone with one on SABA

2) No, Vista works fine, about a third of the class was using it last semester

3) Cable/DSL of some sort. Obviously there are filters on the school internet and its only available from 4pm to 8am

4) LOTS of hiking available. I dont know of a pool. There is a gym, pretty basic though

5) started off with 75 or so i think, down to 65 or so now, probably less actually. VERY friendly in our semester. Lots of people willing to help out the less inclined in the anatomy labs

6) That student is obviously going to have a bias against saba, so take it with a grain of salt. I dont know much about Ross' program, but from what I've heard regarding rotation spots, I'd stay away. I'd say our exams are pretty tough. personally I did better on the Standardized US Anatomy Shelf than I did in the course, so that says something. Regardless of where you go, You will have to spend time studying for the usmle on your own out of first aid books etc. Apparently we have a very high USMLE pass rate and there is the kaplan usmle prep course in 5th semester, so I would think that would be enough to ensure most students do well on the usmle.

the gym is basic but with a good supply of protein one can achieve myofibril hypertrophy on a regular basis

Thanks for the responses Mrchem and Dark,

Its good to know that saba (and ofcourse the students) has kept up with the academic standards and a good percentage of students are getting competitive scores.

Could you expand on what's in the gym? (amount of free weights, machines, cardio equipment etc?)

I haven't applied to SABA yet, but it may sound silly but I need a place where I can work out on a regular basis. I need my break for the day.

Thanks!
