Ok. So I had my interview yesterday. I'm not quite sure what to make of it. First, I could barely hear them on the phone, which I had expected, but this was really bad! And then, they kept on me about why my MCATs were so bad compared to my grades, again I expected that. But they never stopped telling me how I can't fail courses in med school, they don't hold your hands for the boards, things like that. And then...they felt that I was a partier, and would be bored on the island! Why I wrote I like to dance on the weekends is beyond me, but they wouldn't take my truthful answer about how school always comes first (which is true), and I rarely ever get to go out, if at all! And I'm fine with that! I don't know, I really think they are going to reject me. If anyone else has heard about a rough interview, please let me know. At least I knew I held my ground, and didn't get upset. Afterwards, though, I feel a little depressed and defeated!

I've heard a lot of people going through interviews that they felt really bad about when over. A lot of those people also were accepted though. In fact, some of those are the best interviews. So if I were you, I would not be concerned at all and let it take its course.

waiting for an interview call

hey everyone,
i applied to SABA recently (Nov. 30) for Sept. 2007. Also i called and found out that they have recieved all the documents for my application. I am just wondering if anyone knows how long does the pre-screening commitee take in order to decide for the interview?

Two to three weeks is typical. If it takes longer than five or six, I would give them a call and ask what's up. All the best.

Congrats

Congratulations Melissa. I had a feeling you would be accepted after you described your interview - the reason being you honesty in regards to your past experiences.

interview questions abt courses

Hi
Ive been reading posts and seems like most ppl had a lower gpa bcoz of a bad semester or bad year. For me its a bit different,my first yr was engineering and i switched,so i cud explain that. After that,in life sciences(and chem double major) the trend was most mid 70s,1 or 2 80s and one low 60 or even a high 50 which wud ruin the gpa.Now the overall avg probably improved over the 2-4th yr,but i always had one really bad course each yr,how do i explain that during the interview!!!???
The real reasons range from plain procrastination, bad exam schedule,or a hard course to begin with, something i didnt like it but had to take.

btw,my gpa is around 3.1ish with 2.9 on the science courses(im just guessing it since the grades for this semester arent out yet).
