Question Help!! About flights and/or ferry from SABA to St. Maarten

Hi all,

I need your help. I'm planning to arrive with family members but i was wondering how they will return. Lets say I arrive a monday in the morning via the ferry but they have to return that same day to St. Maarten to catch their flight back to the states. How WILL they return to St. Maarten. I mean, are their boats that leave to St Maarten at any time if so, what times? OR are their flights that leave at anytime and they can just go and catch a plane lets say three hours before their flight to St. maarten.

Any imput is greatly appreciated. They plan on leaving on a weekday and want to know if they choose a return flight and they are in SABA they can return at any time to St maarten.

Thank you all in advance.

The Edge II (the morning ferry) leaves at 3:30 for a return to Sint Maarten. Travel time from the ferry dock to the airport is about a half-hour, given typical traffic, but can be more.

There are WinAir flights at various times until around 6:30 PM. If, of course, WinAir can fly (due to winds, etc).

Like rdcaestro said, Winair flies various times of the day. However, they don't adhere strictly to the times...it's more like give or take an hour.

And when I was down there, I had my flight changed to one day earlier and had no trouble. In fact, all I did was call the saba airport (not the airline) and they took care of it for me...and I only called the afternoon before I wanted to leave.

I actually have a question about the ferry.

I am probably taking the Ferry to Saba after arriving in St. Maarten because it's cheaper than Win-air and I want to make sure I have my luggage when I arrive on Saba.

My question is: If I buy a round trip ferry ticket - can I make the return ticket for December when I am traveling back to the states? Do they actually allow you to have a return that much later? I am just wondering if it's a general round trip ticket you buy to use whenever you want? or is it more scheduled?

The other question is - is there transportation from the airport to the ferry on Saba? Or do you have to get a taxi? And also - is it easy to get to and from the ferry on Saba? I guess hitching would be the way, yeah?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just buy a 1-way, it's easier. And you don't save that much. Tell the school when you will be arriving, and Manny will be there in his taxi to meet you. It's a dark blue minivan, he's a great guy, and it's included in your tuition.

Hitching from Ft. Bay with luggage wouldn't be a good option.

About the ferry...I believe the round trip only qualifies if you are returning the same day. Otherwise its considered one-way.

There are taxis at the airport or its easy to call one (assuming someone with a phone is around). Every taxi driver has their own number too. Didn't know about Manny...guess that works too.
