questions about books
I would not get any books untill you get on the island you will be able you get all you books used for first semester from the current 1st and even 2nd and 3rd semester. All I think you really need is BRS for anatomy and netter atlas but if you wait you will be able to get netters CD for free.. Please do not by any histology test books there are tons on the island and you do not really need it anyway.

As far as books for 1st go, you will need a histo atlas, a Netters, and possibly the BRS's for Anatomy, Embryology and Histo. Except for the BRS's you can buy the books used from upper semester students, at deep discounts.
YOU DO NOT NEED A GRANTS DISSECTOR. THEY ARE NOT USED IN CLASS. There is a stack of them unused in the anatomy lab. The Moore's is highly overrated, as well. The Anatomy profs have word docs to accompany the powerpoint slides and have ALL the information you will be required to know. You will need a set or two of scrubs (or more), a couple of boxes of gloves (nitrile is better), and some #10 scalpel blades ($5/box of 100).

I agree... a Netter's atlas, and a BRS for anatomy and embryo.... save your book money until 4th and 5th terms
I also recommend buying a used set of recent Kaplan books so that you can start highlighting now and adding your own notes to the books! That way, when you get to 5th, you will already be prepared for the USMLE. Val |

Hey...
Get BRS for anatomy, Dont get Moore....you wont have time to read it...if you really wanna get Moore....you can get it from upper semester students......Netter for anatomy is a must....very useful...dont get the lab text book.....no one uses it.......for histology....you dont really need a book.....lecture slides are enough to score good and the library has enough reference books to sign out if you need one......
Hope this helps, Siddman
