Pricing of things on the Island

I just got accepted into SABA, and I wanted to find out a little more about the pricing of things on the Island. I do understand that things are a little more expensive compared to the US or St. Marteen. I hope that someone could post prices of a few items that could be bought at the grocery store on SABA (e.g., Milk, Bread, Soap, etc).

Thanks,

Doc

I visited Saba and the housing is much more expensive than the website's info and groceries are more expensive than the states.

it also depends how good you are with your budget and diet. I cooked every meal and never ate in the cafeteria and only ate out occasionally after exams and other than heinekens did not stray from a regular diet of brown rice, pb and j sandwiches, eggs, beans and meat which included chicken/fish and occasional steak. Spent about 50 dollars a week and I was usually covered...not much variety but if you cant cook and have to order out or have your food prepared for you or just want more variety you will pay plenty.

just wondering if there are ATMs students can use without extra fees?

are there any American fast food there or is it just private local restaurants and the school cafeteria?

what about grocery stores? I know there is a Cost U Less like a Costco on St. Maarten but what about SABA?

Thanks

def bring your own...i recommend anything by Redken or Matrix. John Frieda makes a great conditioner, when i grew out my hair in first and 2nd semester it became very thick and wavy like Adrian Grenier aka Vince in Entourage. To tame the curliness a solid conditioner is key especially in the hot climate of Saba where hair has a tendency to dry out. I know its humid but trust me.....conditioning is key.

And if you hit the gym at the right time; your debt won't be the only thing that grows while you're here.
