I visited Saba and the housing is much more expensive than the website's info and groceries are more expensive than the states.

Gas is over $1.20/litre (about $4.80/gal), milk is $5.60 for 4 litres (approx gal), good bread is almost $3 a loaf in Ontario, Canada. How does this compare?

Gas

Gas maybe expensive compared to the States/Canada, but really, how far can you go on a tiny island? How often do students fill up in a month?

I'm not a student and I don't drive to school. In my experience, driving daily meant I had to fill up about twice a month at around $30 a tank. Sure, it's a tiny island, but the steep hills increase gas consumption. If I were you, I'd car pool or use the bus as much as possible.

Regarding the cost of bread, you'll pay between $1.70 and $2.80 for locally made bread that's quite good.
