I'm coming to Saba at the end of April for May 06 classes. I plan to fly into San Juan Puerto Rico and stay there for a few days. What's the best way to get from Puerto Rico to St. Maarten since I'm not paying for a package deal. IS THERE A FERRY THAT GOES FROM PUERTO RICO TO ST. MAARTEN, OR SHOULD I BOOK A FLIGHT WITH SOME COMPANY? WHICH PROVIDES A GOOD FLIGHT INTO ST. MAARTEN IF I GO THAT ROUTE? CARIBBEAN SUN/STAR OR SOME OTHER COMPANY? Thank you ahead of time!

American eagle is as good/bad as any. Flight is about 1 hour or a little less.

I've flown Liat and it's about as good/bad as any carrier these days, Caribbean or North American. They're all pretty horrible

I have heard far too many horror stories about liat and carribean sun, so I stick to American airlines, which has been good for me.
You probably wouldn't want to ride a ferry from puerto rico to Saba even if there was or is one, as that would be a loooooong ride by comparison. (I guess that would make it a ship, not a ferry?) There will be many opportunities to drink free beer and sodas on the ferry between Saba and St. Maartin if you are so inclined.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, dont fly anything other than American Eagle. I spent 6 hours on a Caribbean Star/Sun flight which was suppose to take 1.5 hours, and all to save 16 dollars. It was a bad decision. Liat is also not so fun with their delays and with deciding that oh, we just dont wanna fly today, come back tomorrow. STICK TO AMERICAN EAGLE. The Caribbean is a nightmare for lost bags, and delayed flights and missing gates. Oh, and while you are at it, pick up an AAdvantage card to collect those miles, cause American Eagle usually has double and triple the miles on those flights!!!
