Peds in Jackson

I've heard that Peds is pretty bad in Jackson. Is there any truth to this?

Jackson Park

I am currently doing my first and ONLY rotation at Jackson park. It is overpopulated with students, in a bad neigborhood (cars broken into a lot)and teaching is not a priority.

I am doing psych, I really dont care, not planning on persuing psych, if you want to do pretty much a Family Rotation with no lectures and no teachers come to jackson park.

Internal medicine groups look like 15-17 students per doctor if he/she shows.

Anyway, hope this helped.

What happens if the docs don't show?

I just finished ped. at Jackson Park. This is the worse place to learn, to live. I only showed up 2 days per week. I use other time to study CS and CK. I love it!!! NO calls, NO teaching

Hi HJMA,
I am going to attend Jackson Park in August. Just curious, if there was little teaching, how did you find the final exam to be? Was studying for CK enough for the final?

Thanks,
Info

Don't go to JPH for Ped. Waste your money and time. You will not learn anything there

Disheartening.

Hi,
Why do you say it is a horrible rotation. I don't plan on going to PEDS, and this is the only rotation that I will be doing in Chicago. I mean, will I get to write progress notes, take history and physical, go to rounds? etc... Please elaborate why it is a poor rotation. This rotation nicely fits into my rotation schedule and allows me to prevent time-off. I will really appreciate knowing exactly why I should avoid this rotation, consider me a very motivated student, will it still be not worth my time? Thanks
