All I have to say is fantastic.. lots of learning (via lectures, residents, and almost all staff), LOTS of hands on, lots of medicine.. I would recommend this rotation to all that are considering it.. I believe the only core we have there is internal med.. if anyone has specific q's, just pm me and I will try to respond..if time allows b/w studying and the actual rotation....

Path at Harbor

Has anyone done the pathology elective at harbor? A couple of people I spoke to said you basically get a box of slides and a microscope. I guess my question is, do you actually assist in autopsies, specimen examinations etc. Any feedback would be highly appreciated...

Im here in internal medicine rotation and its been great so far on night float. I haev assisted with lumbar punctures, cardiac compressions and many other procedures and it has only beren my first week. So far so good and I would reccomend this internal medicine rotation for anyone who can choose it.

When I was there, the interns were more than happy to let you do any DRE's or stool guaiacs.
