must pass step1 before start clinicals?
Hi everyone,
I heard that once a person writes step 1 they directly start clinicals (without waiting for the actual results). And then if the person happens to fail, then they must take a "leave of absence" from the clinicals and write it again. Is this true? Or must one get the results first and then move forward? thanks, naomi |

Depending on what clerkship you have scheduled, you can start without waiting for the results...however, if you fail to pass, you will not be able to move to your next until you have PASSED.

I think it is a great idea to pass your step 1 first before starting any rotation. can you imagine rotating and knowing that u still have to pass step 1 before any of these work mean anything? man, it is like walking with a cloud over your head.

Personally I think it is a very bad idea to start a rotation without knowing your step 1 results. For the first half of my psych rotation I was obsessed with my Step 1. I wasn't doing anything or getting anything out of the rotation.
