Wireless Router For Sale

Linksys WRT54G wireless router with 4 LAN ports and 802.11b & 802.11g wireless functionality. (Up to 54 megabit)

Bought new at the end of February. Latest firmware installed. Supports all data encryption schemes including the latest and greatest; WPA2.

If you have a laptop with a wireless adapter, this router is perfect if you'd like to use your computer somewhere away from the network cable. Also a great way to share a connection with multiple computers; both wireless and wired. Easy to use, just plug it in.

$50

Wireless Router

Hey Doc... Just curious as to why you are selling it! Plan on buying one but haven't gotten around to it yet. What do they generally retail at?

Hey guys,

I'm selling it because I'm getting a different one that I can do geekier things with, that's all. The one I'm selling has all the bells and whistles and is Linksys' most poular model.

It does not plug into a USB port. All you do is plug the power adapter into the wall, and then plug your network cable from the DSL modem into the router. Then you can plug up to 4 computers into the router with network cables, (more if you add a hub or switch) and as many wireless computers as you want.

I should note that it won't be available until my new one arrives in a week or so. If you want it, give me a call @ 2687. Ask for Travis.

One that I plan on hacking the firmware on. It's almost the same model. It's got the exact same feature set as the one that I'm selling, but it's easier to hack the firmware on.

The router I'm selling has more features than 90% of users will ever utilize. Me, being a 10-year veteran of the computer industry, am a hopeless geek and I change hardware like most people change shoes... and for no other reason than just to play with different things.

LOL, right. I've hacked mine to get about 10x the transmit power....works well, especially with this concrete construction we've got here.

I'm not doing anything to the transmit power, I'm looking at advanced routing capabilities and so forth.

The power on this one seems to be fine: It's on the hill above swinging doors and I can connect to it from The Level.
