Hm… What exactly do you mean? Do the rumors concern our company? or ?
The universities we represent (out of about 60 Russian medical schools) do not have different fees for students from different countries. And as I said before we charge the official fees (tuition, accommodation, insurance). It is easy to check. There are three more medical schools recognized by MCM but I am not in contact with them and have no idea how the things are going there. However, may be this is the activity of some local dishonest agents?

Hi, I am not in touch with this Academy: no information on their politics. In general, MD study in Russian medium starts at the beginning of September. As a rule, MD study in English starts in September-October. Some universities offer more intensive first-year program with start of the study in November. These students sit in the class for 6 days a week and have vocation in August only.
Admission is to be finished 1-1,5 month before the study starts (time required for invitation and visa processes).

I would like to remind that admission process will be closed soon: in almost universities (People Friendship University, Saratov, Ryazan, St Petersburg) English- or French-medium programs start at the beginning of Ocotober. Since the invitation process (issuing documents for visa support) usually requires 2-3 weeks, the prospective students have just a couple of weeks for the decision-making.
Those who intend to study in Russian medium may consider applying up to October: Foundation (preparatory) courses to study the language start within a period September-November.

I am a first-generation immigrant to the US from Russia. I am now looking into going back to Russia to study medicine. Although I have not visited Russia since the age of 7, my Russian speech and reading are nearly fluent and I have confidence that I could get my writing up to speed within a matter of months.
I have a few questions I was hoping you could help me to answer: I would prefer to attend a Russian-language program, and was looking specifically at MMA Sechenov. 1) Does this school, and other Russian med schools, accept international applicants to the general program? I have US citizenship only, not Russian. 2) Is there a difference in "quality" between the Russian-language and English-language programs? That is, does one have a better reputation than the other? 3) Are there any statistics regarding residency placement in the US upon graduation (assuming, of course, that you do well on the USMLEs)? I'm sure this has been mentioned on this site but I have not been able to find statistics, only personal testimony. Also, it seems that few foreign medical students in Russia are American--is this true? Many of the other countries seem to be more heavily represented. If you have any further information that you think I may find useful, I would greatly appreciate it. I have not found any information for Russian-speaking American citizens online! |
