I am a third year med student from ROss. my experiance at ross has been wonderful. I think that the island is a peace of heaven, and were lucky to have been able to be a part of it. Yes, it is not as cushy as the states, but if u keep ur focus on school you will not be bothered by the island. Its actually beautiful, and there is a few things u can do to relax and take a break. There are wonderful nature sites to visit, snorkeling, visiting roseau, and some restaurants. Youwil only have fun if u make it fun!
good luck

For a copy of the Ross Newsletter see:

This was written by a 4th semester student, and it is excellent. It give an impartial view of your life as a student in Dominica.

some of the features include: seeing/updating any information ross has for you. including addresses, emergency contacts etc.

your financial aid information: when your check was dispersed, any holds on your accounts and other features.

your clinical information: schedule, whether the school has received your evaluation from the site, gaps in your schedule.

graduate planning: forms for graduation (deans letter…), state licensure requirements, residency planning guide.

I have only had a few minutes to look over the site but at least this should cut down on the calls ross receives about schedules, forms, account information, and financial aid.

Post Ross Spouse's Organization

The Ross Spouse's Organization is dedicated to helping spouses, significant others, and families in their transition to the island. The organization's main goal for this semester is to get a "sponsorship" program in place so that incoming spouses can have individualized assistance. RSO would like to invite you to their new web-site at www.rossspouses.org, but please keep in mind that it is still under construction.

Additional RSO missions include providing a support network for spouse's of Ross students, facilitating volunteering opportunities, and arranging activities for spouse's, significant others, and families.
For more information please feel free to email the organization at rossspousesorg@gmail.com.

Link for states' requirements for licensure

The following is the link for a chart for inidividual states' requirements for licensure. Keep in mind it is always a smart idea to check with the state medical board where you are interested in to get the most up to date demands.
