Merp - April 2012

I was just accepted into the April 2012 Merp. Just looking to meet my future Merp peers....

Thanks for the encouraging reply. I was able to get one police letter so far, waiting for the second one. The 2 letters of reference from none family members, what is it suppose to say/ answer? Is everyone taking sallie Mae or wells Fargo loans? Some people mentioned the apr for wells Fargo is lower but the website lists it at 10% as the lowest for none secure personal. I can't wait to start MERP! I've been out of school for 6 years so it will be tough.

Basically the letters are to show good character - they need to be short and sweet and show the Bahamian government that you're not a crazy person that they're letting into their country I was in MERP last semester and personally took out a loan via Wells Fargo with a 7.25% variable interest rate. I had a couple of friends use Sallie Mae and they got a non-variable rate but they had to have a cosigner. It is easiest to call which ever company you want to use directly. I was approved and settled with Wells over the phone in 20 minutes.

Sounds like the loan can be done fairly quickly. Yay I just got my myross ID, currently looking for an apartment. Is there a specific forum where people want to share a two bedroom apartment? Heh frankly it's too lonely to rent a whole place myself

Does anyone know if AUC MERP April 2012 is full? My application was submitted to be reviewed on Monday. I'm sooo stressed--I hate this waiting game!

I think April MERP check in starts April 11, orientation on 16 and classes on 17. I'm scheduled to fly in April 11. Haven't packed all my things yet. Seems like American Airline only allows one free 50 pound check in bag.

You only get one free bag on AA (no free bags on US) but you can take more for a price! I took 3 suitcases down to Freeport with me
