Smile Hi Everyone Beware of Craigs List too

Hi Everyone, My name is Pam Perez and I work for Century 21 Continental. I am a Realtor with over two years of experience in working with Ross students and over 5 years working with UM students. You may have heard of me. I have been recommended over the past 2 years and built up my reputation with Ross students because of my professionalism. I am also the one who has always made sure that no student, whether Ross or UM, gets ripped off by unscrupulous landlords here in Miami Florida. I have a daughter who is a student too and I know that I would not want this to happen to her, when she goes to her Masters program out of town. I felt there was a need here in Miami for you students at Ross to have a contact that is a "real" ethical professional so that these things do not happen. My husband and I work as a team to assist in finding housing through landlords that we have been working with at least over a year. All money is placed in escrow at Century 21 until your arrival. When you arrive, you will have a nice, clean unit to come to. If there is a problem with the unit, or if it is not to our cleaning standards, we have it taken care of immediately or if something needs to be repaired we do our best to get those things done for you in a timely manner. Remenber, we as real estate professionals still need to work with the owners and some are better than others. check out my ross housing. com ( no spaces) we have set this up for MERP and 5th semester students and also UM. Call us, we care, and we want you here safe!! Our best to all, PLEASE use a Real Estate Professional to assist you, the service is free. If someone trys to charge you, drop them!! they are not ethical!!

Oh please!

Geez...it takes one to know one doesn't it

Anyway, for incoming 5th semesters don't be scared that anyone is going to rip you off...be smart...come on your the one in med school.

Check out Craig's List, and other rental websites. Don't be afraid to just go to Miami and look around. I know you may not have a lot of time but give it a try that way you can see for yourself. Others will try to scare you and make you think you will get scammed, but truthfully everyone in Miami is out to get your money...you just have to be smart about it.

And lastly, don't let realtors make you think otherwise. Be aware of contracts and try to see if you can find places that will allow you to rent month to month. Use the internet to your advantage...also if you go about it yourself you will probably save money. When you go through realtors the rent is hiked up because they get commission from the amount you pay per month.

Be smart, put in some research into where you want to live, your landlord. Afterall, you were the one who lived in a jungle for 16 months you should have some idea about street smarts by now

This is why we do not charge a deposit at our places. The only thing we do is to require a hold deposit that is applied to the first month's rent ($400 hold then $400 cash when you arrive). Our rent is $800 per month that comes out to about $27 per night. To find a short term in Miami is not easy. Most people require a lease and we do not. Right now we have 5 medical students at our place at 3325 and still have room for more students. Also, 3325 SW 9th Terrace is zoned duplex so it's perfectly legal. Location is a great factor; you can walk out at 2am and walk to La Carreta Restaurant and feel safe. So always check location, deposits, history, contact now or former renters (fellow students) at the property and see what they think before you rent. We wish you best of luck in finding a great place but most of all in your studies.

legroup

Has anyone rented with legroupmanagement.com? I found them on craigslist and spoke to the Haitian guy there and he seems nice and told me they had a ton of Ross and AUA students there at 305 NE 80 Terrace. Has anyone rented at this location or with this company and what was ur experience like?
Thanks for any info you can provide

AVOID Furnished Finders. She is the Sonia lady mentioned earlier in the thread. She will steal your deposit. And she let our electricity get cut off in the middle of summer and did not want to replace our lost groceries or pay for a hotel. It was "all-inclusive" and she didn't pay the bill! The dryer was broken and she never fixed it and she charged a huge cleaning fee for a spotless apartment. And she took our whole deposit. STAY AWAY. She posts on all the free classifieds sites.

Recommendations in Miami?

Can students please recommend places that have worked. What areas were the best for ease of transport to the hospitals. Any safety issues? Thanks for the support.
