My interview is on the 28th of March for the May matriculation...I hope its not too late. Anyone else have their interview at or around this date?

*If* I get accepted, won't it take a while to get all my immunizations and for the packet to arrive? I will have only exactly one month to do all this as well as get rid of all my stuff at my apartment so I don't know if I'll have time...

I am interviewing this Wednesday in Miami (since I live here). All the information from valuemd has been wonderful.

OMG. Two weeks ago I got an email from Ross admissions telling me that I was under review and I should know in about two weeks. Well I hadn't heard anything so I called them. First, they could not find me in the computer system at the NJ. They said that an email had been sent to me on the 12th telling me to contact Miami to see if I qualify for an interview. So they transferred me to Miami who also took forever to find me, and my application has to be reviewed again by Miami so that I could set up an interview possibly at their office b/c I live closer, and that they would call me today and let me know the results. ????
So I would suggest any of you waiting to hear back on your application to stay in contact with admissions.

Has anyone here interviewed in Seattle? Any details or insights would be appreciated.

I have an interview there on the DeVry Campus so no need to fly to Miami which in my case is great as I'm in Vancouver.

I'd suggest anyone that can should try to interview in Miami.......5th semester is there and you will get a tour of the classrooms and Larkin Hospital, where the 5th semester clinicals and some rotations are.

I actually just scheduled an interview up in Seattle for the 2nd. She told me the interview would only last an hour. Anyone else interviewed with Lisa Miller in Seattle?

As far as the admissions office goes, I agree. Stay in contact with them, I was calling them at least once a week and I submitted my application the first week of January.

I called them last week and they told me my application had been processed, however they hadn't even sent me an email. The next day, I got a call for an interview.

So definitely keep in contact with them, that way you know there's nothing weird going on with your application.

My interviewer asked me, "Are there any doctors in my life I admire and why they are an inspiration to me."

I replied, "Well besides the doctors that I watch on T.V, there is my brother, my uncle and one of the attendings in the ER that I work in............"

and when I finished he asked (with a frown on his face) "How do doctors on TV inspire you"
I replied, "Uh.... that was a joke", but then after an akward silence, he just bursted out laughing...................

Whats up...I interviewed at NJ on the 13th of March for May...my interviewer told me that since I am applying for May...the admissions committee will prioritize me...I asked him how many seats are available for May and he had no idea...I just hope there are enough left...he said that he would let me the result within a week since I will be their priority...hopefully this coming week brings some good news

Well I rescheduled my interview luckily and had it on the 14th of March...my interviewer told me it'd be 2 weeks or so but if I don't hear back in a week I'm going to call him.

Before I had my interview I was a little afraid because I had heard that other people did not have a good experience with ***********. Well, let me tell you. My interview was great because ***************is a very friendly man. He greeted me with a smile and asked me if I wanted any water or coffee. During the whole interview he was very nice and thorough as well. I started out with a video and then sat down for the interview. In total my interview was about 1 1/2 hours.

I was asked to explain my volunteer and work experiences. We went over my academic records. The last part of the interview were some ethical questions and the interview ended with my questions.

Here are some specific questions I was asked:

1. Why do you want to become a doctor?
2. Where do you think the future of medicine is going?
3. What do you think about the HMO issue?
4. What is your opinion of assisted suicide?
5. What would you do if you had a patient who asked you to assist them in ending their life?
6. How do you plan on paying for your education?
7. What area of medicine do you have in mind?
8. What kind of relationship do you want to have with your patients?

In all, the interview was very thorough and I was impressed. Now all there is to do is wait. I was told it would take about 4 weeks for me to find out the final decision.

What is the HMO issue? Does that have to do with choosing your own doctors?
