511 points Fern, I too was dissapointed to receive the "Farewell" message from Dean Wagner. He has been a great student advocate, a good source of information, and has served in his postion of Associate Dean of Students and Professor in the behavioral science division quite well for a number of years.
On behalf of all of us who have profited from this forum, I would like to thank Dean Wanger for all the time he dedicated to helping us sort out the confusion that investigating offshore medical schools brings. He will be here until the end of the year. I'd encourage all to stop by his office (or e-mail, or post here) to say "thank you" for his kind service.

510 points As a parent of a first semester student who stated in September 03 Ican only say that both my son and I gained valuabe knowlege from Mitchdc , all the people who post valuable items on the valuemd site. I wasso impressed by the answers given by Dean Wagner that I made it a point to visit him when I went to the Island. He spent a half hour with my son and myself and he stated that his door was always open to the students. It was comforting to know that my son had someone he could depend on for an unbiased answer.
I am sure that for monitary, politics or other reasons none of us will know about his contract was not renewed. It happens all the time in teh business world. I wish him all the best in the future and hope that all of the students whose llives he touched will also wish him good luck.
Of course if all students past and present voiced there displeasure with this decision to the administration it would show support for the Dean.
Sometimes in the world of Academia decisions have been overturned based on support of students and parents.
Let me be the first to give my support.
Dear All,
Upon just hearing about Dean Wagner's departure, I must add that personally his presence on campus will be sorely missed, and feel that any sentiments mentioning one or two of his vast accomplishments on campus over the past 8 years, would not do his contributions here justice.
He has been an excellent individual, Teacher, and Dean for us all, and I will sorely miss him and his uniquity on campus dearly.
In all his future career moves, he shall be highly prized for the experience he offers, and I envy the next institution that includes him amongst their faculty.
Sincerely,
-Incognito
to dean Wagner:good luck in all your future endeavors. And rest assured that you made a positive mark on the school and the students.
god bless.
Though I don't think you know who I am you really helped me out when I needed you. You and Mr Puschel were life savers and I am sorry to hear that future generations of Ross students will not get to benefit from you open door and friendly ear policies as I did.
Dean Wagner,
You've always been the one that was available to students when no one else seemed available or willing to listen. I can say that from past experience. Thank you for all the work you've done for us. I can't believe you'll be leaving the school. It will be a challenge for the administration to find someone to take your place. I'm sorry to hear we'll be losing someone who is so in touch with the students. I can't believe it!

Dean Wagner said in his e-mail that the decision to not renew his contract was made by the President of Ross University. Does anyone know the name or e-mail address of this person? I'd certainly like to e-mail him to get a more clear idea of why Mr. Wagner would not be retained by the University. I think alot of other people would also like his name and e-mail address. I'm not saying we should start an e-mail campaign to retain Dean Wagner, but I think it would be perfectly appropriate if some of us wrote an e-mail to the President with our questions and comments. If someone has this information, please post it on this website.
I'll be starting Ross in January, and although I never met Dean Wagner. I must say he played a key role in my decision to attend Ross. He gave Ross and this forum credibility. I was so looking forward to meeting him and thanking him personally for his participation on this forum. Thank you Dean Wagner!
William
