....
I think its close to 1000 students every 16 months. Since the campus has 1000 people at any one time, and there are four semesters, I would say about 1,000 people are accepted here every 16 months. But for various reasons, an undetermined number of poeple drop out, fail out, leave, or whatever else, which means that not all 1,000 accepted students will leave after their 16 month term. I would say a few hundred pass on to Miami each year...estimated at around 200 or so (and I'm hearing 50+ students were accepted as transfers from Guadalahara for some reason???).

Things to keep in mind
This is a frequently asked question and if you search I know Jim has answered it at least 10 times. Keep in mind that the large class sizes are relatively new and there for the graduation numbers will not significantly swell for 3 to 4 years. If not this years graduation then next you should see a significant increase in numbers. One sign of the increasing numbers allready I can point to is the fact that Ross matched more people in the last match then any other schoool out there. These numbers should continue to go up as the 300 plus class sizes move through the process and graduate. In a few years we might be seeing 800 Ross students in the match. That will be interesting and hard for the US to ignore.

A very important question
The number of people who actually end up graduating from Ross is a very important issue to consider before deciding on whether or not to come here. This school accepts just over 300 people per semester, which means about 900-1000 per year. However, they only graduated about 350 during this year's commencement ceremony in NYC. This means that 2/3 people you see in the lecture hall on your first day of med school will not be there on graduation day.
Where do these 2/3 people go? A handful transfer to US med schools. Many end up failing out during the first or second semester. Of those that fail, some decide not to pursue medicine any longer and others enroll at St. Matthew's Univ., or one of the other bogus Caribbean med schools (by bogus, I mean all Caribbean med schools except Ross, AUC, and SGU). This is a really eye-opening fact and I'm surprised that Ross Univ. has been so successful at down-playing it. Most people who come here will NOT end up with a Ross medical degree. Most will leave Dominica with disappointment, a lighter wallet, and plenty of mosquito bites. Think about that before you invest your money and your dreams here. |

graduates
Where did you get your figures that 4 years ago Ross admitted 900-1000 students per year. From what I have learned by reading the various postings over the last six months they probably had 600 if that. Based on people leaving for personal reasons or having to take the semester over due to failing a class or being left behind for a semester because they had less than a 76 average and didn't pass the comp exam will decrease the graduates for a particular year. Many of those students will graduate in future years.

stat
ok look here's a stat you should look at. I think it has been confirmed even with raw numbers (like students at ross doing some investigation work)
about 65% of students will make it to Step 1 with their class. Others drop, fail out, or repeat semesters. |

re
I think the big discrepency(sp?) lies in the class sizes 3-4 years ago.
jim said that back then not as many people were in each class. the class sizes of 300 or so is a more recent event in the history of the school. I guess it'll be interesting to see how the big the next 2 graduating classes are. Anyways, take care of yourself and these numbers won't matter anyways. |

old news
search the back files on this one. as is stated in the past, class sizes were more like 100 before, and at one time were actually less then 2 dozen per class. wait until about one more year to see the really big grad classes. of all who started who would have graduated in 2003, about 75% graduated from ross. dont have time now to look back at actual numbers, may be a little higher or lower average. alos, this class had the l;argest number of transfers to US schools to lower the average also.
