How many students try to transfer and what percentage usually get in? How do you stop from repeating a yr (i heard this happens sometimes)?
yes you can check the respective schools websites they should have a adv standing site

Drexel (and other schools) will accept into the 2nd and 3rd year (3rd year is the more usual transfer), the difference is that Drexel will accept into the 2nd year without Step I scores (hence why some place you retake 2nd year because you can't take step I without completing the basic sciences). Many of the applications ask if you want to be considerd for the 2nd year, 3rd year or both-just check 3rd year if you don't want to repeat.

who is getting paid ?

I was wondering who is getting paid to write replies and pump the "post". I know the question about transferring has been thoroughly answered. I can tell from the statistics there are quite a few people reading, but the question was already answered. Do not come to Ross University School of Medicine thinking you have anything but a very small chance of transferring. The statistics for the few who have a chance to transfer are either exceptional Step 1 scores or brown on the nose. The thread is dead. Why be ashamed of being a graduate of the best medical school in the Caribbean ?

Because it took me a heck of a lot of research, here is a list of schools that are currently (assuming their websites are current and there are spaces open) accepting transfers from "US citizens attending foreign medical schools".

Drexel (PA)
New York College of Medicine
Tulane (LA)
Marshall (WV)
George Washington (DC)
Northeastern Ohio
Indiana (IN residents only)
Brown (RI residents only)
Chicago Medical School
Mercer (GA residents only)

i dont know if this site has been posted before but i was browsing through the AAMC website and came across the transfer policy search. you can search by policy and put a checkmark in the policies you are interested in and then run a search. here it is: Transfer Policies Search for 2006-2007 Academic Year | Transfer Policies Reports

Not entirely accurate (it lists Harvard as accepting IMS, but their website states "Transfers are not possible."), but I did update the list on those that I could verify acceptance.

New York College of Medicine
Tulane (LA)
Marshall (WV)
George Washington (DC)
Northeastern Ohio
Indiana (IN residents only)
Brown (RI residents only)
