Ross University Thread Re. Potential Loss of Loans

The thread begun by Dr. E inadvertently got merged by another moderator due to the fact that contributors got off track. I will start a new one here. PLEASE be certain if you contribute that your q's, a's, and comments pertain only to the issue as it affects ROSS. It is not possible to UNmerge the thread back here, and I don't have time to cherry pick and cut and paste the great contributions back into this thread...so I'll leave it up to you, but please stay on topic.

p.s. I sent my letters electronically to my congressional reps re. my feelings and opinions about how the possible loss of loans to Ross students. It was "only" a mom's opinion, but I think I packed a big punch for ya.

myself, father and friends got nothing back after contacting lieberman.....i included that depending on how he voted for this specific bill would determine if i voted for him again

Nothing from Dodd yet either and I did not tie his decision to his vote - so maybe it's an issue of timing here more than content!

we have to keep contacting these politicians . I got a response from Clinton , but it wasnt what i was looking for , so i contacted her office a few more times .

This is the thread that deserves the most attention at this point i.e our future at Ross hinges on it . Any updates ? Anyone wants to share anything about the federal loans situation . I hope u guys are still contacting elected officials . Where is the SGA president ? ( he's done a great job but we need to keep pressing on with this matter )
I sent faxes out to every person on the committe .
I also sent letters to everyone of them .
On a daily basis , I send emails to all of the comitte memebers ( it really doesnt take long , just save the addresses and send out a daily email )
I'm going to send faxes on a daily basis from here on .
We can't afford to lose our loans .
Maybe this thread can be made a sticky . ( I see posts that involve a lot of childish bickering receive more attention than this... OUR FUTURE .
So please post anything i.e updates , your personal approach at reaching the elected officials and feedback received.

I agree, at AUC as well, most people don't grasp the importance of what is going on. Most people I've talked to haven't emailed their congressman/senators and are surprised that I am so concerned.

Guys this is not a joke, EVERYONE has to put in 5 minutes of their time and email, fax, your senators. Tell your family and friends to do the same! When they vote, we gotta be sure they remove from the bill the section that is affecting us. Sec 103 of the Senate 1614 bill.. Look it up.. please!!!!!
