Just had a few questions:

Is it possible for 3 and 4th years students to rotate at a hospital that is not listed as one of the clinically affiliated hospitals on the Ross website. If so, is it possible to rotate in university hospitals? Does anyone know of anyone who has rotated in a university hospital as a 3rd or 4th year?

To all Asians that may be on campus-are there markets that sell typical asian groceries, such as rice, spices, "asian vegetables"? Is the rice sold there any good? All you asians can attest to what is good rice. None of that Uncle Bens business.

If I were to bring in spices, pastes, etc to cook with, is there a tax on these items?

The answer is yes. However you will be entirely responsible for setting up these rotations on your own. Let me tell you honestly, that you will in general, not receive a good response from most University based hospitals. You will hear the same montra of "we do not allow foreign medical students to do rotations here."
With that being said, if you have connections at a University based hospital, it makes it a lot easier.

I only did 1 rotation (psyche) at a Ross Affiliate. All my electives and the rest of my core rotations were done at a University based hospital.

Can I ask...did you have connections at the university or did you ask the university and they allowed you to rotate there? I am interested in rotating at a university setting, but have few connections. We'll see. Thanks.

I had connections. I know of others who tried to get rotations where I was and the same departments that allowed me to rotate, would not allow any other FMG to do so.
