at least its ACGME
The Surgery rotation at Wyckoff if now ACGME which is better then some of the other rotations that ROSS offers. Its amazing how few rotations ROSS has except for Wyckoff. They have alot of other hospitals on their affiliation list but it seems like there are only a few people at each of the other rotations. Must be the fact that they pay WEyckoff a lower rate then is required at the other hospitals or that many of the other affiliated hospitals also have a bigger relationship with US Medical schools and take their students over the ROSS students.
Have you actually contacted all the hospitals yourself to confirm when surgery rotations are available? i thought it was difficult to get ACGME ob/gyn rotations. Good luck

questions to ask yourself/ross advisor
Quote:
-Will you be scheduled for something else if you give up your March spot at Wyckoff? -Where will you be scheduled in September for surgery if you picked that instead? (better rotation, non-DO?) -Will you be able to fill in the gaps with electives? -Travelling differences...different hospital = longer travelling time? moving states? etc.... -DO vs MD rotation (as above)? -Do you plan on limiting the number of states you wish to gain licensure by doing a DO rotation (as above)? - Even if you don't think at this point in your med school career that you think you ever be going into surgery, you should still not close that door. You might have an enlightening experience and learn that surgery may actually be your "calling"? Good luck, -

clerkships
Now you are getting spoiled. ALL the clerkships are better than you would have gotten in Mexico.
