The good news just keeps on rolling

RUSM Community-

To bring everyone up to date on the current problems we're experiencing with respect to our potable water distribution system, the following update is forwarded to your information and use. Please pass along to colleagues and classmates to ensure that everyone understands the current situation. There are two separate problems that we are working to resolve at this time.

An email update was forwarded Friday afternoon regarding a small water leak near classroom #4 and the library area. After completing some initial investigation of the problem, it was determined that the pipe could not be fixed within a reasonable timeframe to avoid impacting community use of the restrooms prior to the exam week. Water to all sections of campus was restored Friday evening, but the Library, Classroom #4/ICM & Classroom #1 restrooms have experienced lower than normal pressure since that time as a result of the small leak.

Sometime between midnight and 6:30am this morning, our main water line received a large pressure surge from the local water system. We have not been able to determine the cause of the surge, but have confirmed that a pipe fitting attached to our main water line shifted underground, causing the water pressure to drop on the entire campus. The maintenance team mobilized quickly this morning and is nearing completion of temporary fixes for both the main water line break, as well as the break in the line serving the Library, Classroom #1, Old Administration & Classroom #4/ICM restrooms.

The restroom pavilion backup water system was energized this morning at 8:00am and is currently operational. Classroom #4, Classroom #6 and Executive Office Bldg restrooms have been closed. All other restrooms remain open for community use. The grounds maintenance and housekeeping teams have brought emergency water supplies from RUH (this water is being stored in the large blue drums around campus). This water will support the more frequent cleaning required during this water curtailment.

Water fountains will remain closed until water supply is fully restored to the campus. After the temporary repairs are complete, our plumbers and housekeeping staff will conduct a full survey of all restrooms to ensure that they are clean, functional and well stocked will supplies prior to our teams departure this evening.

Additional information will be forwarded as it becomes available.

Are you an incoming student or already at Ross? I am starting in Sept and I haven't noticed anything incompetent about the FA department. How hard is it to understand that you go to salliemae.com if you want to apply for part or all of the certifiable amount. First you apply for the amount for the first 3 semesters you are allowed to get in Stafford loans (sub/and unsub), then you apply either with or without a cosigner for the Signature Loan for the remaining amount you want or for the maximum allowed by Ross. After that you just wait.... am I missing something? What more would anyone need to know or do???

same old students attempting to downplay the usual ** that goes on at Ross by pointing fingers at the students, the adm should have to prove their accusations, I have heard rumors that some of you die hard Ross defenders are actually paid by the school to paint a nice pit of Ross

Check

Yeah, I get a check from Ross every 4 months or so. The unfortunate thing is that I have to pay all that back with interest.

loan confusion

Hey all!

I applied for FA about a month ago with a co-signer. My credit was already pre-approved but I still was looking for a better interest rate. When my dad co-signed with me, it said the interest rate was prime + 0.00% and there was 0% of fees. Now when I look at my interest rate it says prime + 4.50% and it still says no fees. But if I look at another page it says that there is a disbursement fee. What is going on?

$$

You had better call Sallie Mae since this has nothing to do with Ross. I don't think they will ever waive the disbursement fee as that is how the banks make a killing off of us.

called Salliemae

Hey,

I actually called Salliemae and they had made a mistake. I do not pay disbursment fees (or any type of fees) and I get prime + 0%. They had the wrong numbers on the page for some odd reason, but now it is all fixed!!!!

Let me tell you, I am in miami now, AND looking back at this, I would never DO THIS AGAIN. The ROSS CAMPUS is nothing I could have ever expected. It is beyond believable. AND I ALMOST get nauseus with the slight whisper of the word "DOMINICA".

classrooms nicer

Dyphylobrothum:

Fortunately I can't agree with you about the classrooms in Dominica. I personnaly have seen the newer classrooms with wireless connectivity, outlets for laptops, and plasma tv's. I have recently seen the classtooms in a US medical school and they had none of the above mentioned items. Ross is improving its facilities to become one of the more high tech medical schools.
