About attrition rate and failing Ross students!~!!!!!!

We all agree that Ross University accepts every semester around 300 students and the school offer 3 semesters per year, so let us presume that the school accept qualified students, that simply mean more students will successfully complete the basic science section. So tell me jim and the others. Do you think Ross Univ. will be able to accomodate all the students who successfully completed usmle1 and provide them with clinical rotations?.Let me rephrase it simply is Ross University capable to accommodate all the students who completed their basic science?. So, when you accept 300 students in the first semester, but you already know that your clinical training sites are limited and not permenant!!! What would you do? So if we analyze this scenario we can easily come to the conclusion that the primary benificery is Ross University not the students, and for those who speculate that high number of students are given a chance to become doctors is just an illusion. The fact is Ross accepts a lot of students knowing that if all these students were able to successfuly complete the basic science and the board that Ross Univ. won't be able to accomodate them in clinical training. So please make the simple calculation. Who is winning and who is losing? For the answer please check below!!
ANSWER:
The winner is Ross University
The losers are:
1- US. Department of education/Tax payers
2-All Ross Univ. students(those who successfully made it through the program and got their MD-(like having an MD from an institute that may close down ), and those who could not make it( they are in better position(whether they transfered or quit your plan of becoming MD and do something else).
Please, also be aware that the mind set up of most of the students who could not gain acceptance to US medical schools and got accepted to off-shore medical schools won't be able to clearly, and thoroughly evaluate the said institution that accepted her/him. The student will be too excited to get that acceptance after rejection(from US or Canadian institutions) and the possibility of bias will be high and you won't be able to thoroughly evaluate the situation and you will the victim and so far Ross Univ. was able to fool alot of people and entities, but you know you can fool some people sometime, but......iam sure ya all know the rest of the song or the say.
Peace, and please open your mind and get rid of the bias.
My posts are mainley intended to target early 20 year old students who are dedicated enough to leave their countries in search of becoming good MDs.

Attrition

Somehow you sound like a student who isn't doing well accidemically. Maybe Devry will be able to get the new incoming classes new and better rotations. I wonder if anyone has emailed Devry about the valuemed forum. Finally what makes you think Ross will be shutting down. Not a very prudent $350 million dollar investment by Devry if you are correct.

Conspiracy Theory was a good movie.

Give us facts, and let us come to conclusions. It doesn't work the other way around.

Why i did not stop posting here?????

I did not stop posting here and i won't stop:

1-Because i realized that ross forum is controlled by Ross university's recruiters and my duty is to expose them(eg.Jim and the others, especially some of those who joined this forum after i joined it 6/3/o3).

2-This forum will be productive refuge for potential (prospectives students) victims of ross univ. So, please, those who out there who can relate or willing to listen, please, understand that all i am trying to do is to help prospectives young medical students, and at the same time i am crying for help.

dude where's your grammar?

Naseeeer, I am not one for censorship so I won't suggest that you get banned or anything for your inflammatory piles of crap. But after reading your 30 or so semi-intelligible posts, I am appalled at your writing skills. You may have points to make (supported or not by facts) but they are best put forward with some modicum of grammar, sentence structure, and even paragraph formatting. That way, your points will be easily read and responded to. Maybe, just maybe you can gain some credibility? Yeah, I know, its a crazy thought.

For example, in paragraph one, outline your sad state of existence. Illustrate this with some examples from your lonely life eating cheese from a can in your cramped little apartment while you stare insanely into your computer screen, hell bent on meaningless propaganda and accusations without end. Perhaps you have a picture of Mitch on your wall, which you have marked with a bulls-eye and throw darts at it before crying yourself to sleep every night?

The second paragraph can take the shape of explaining your bitterness and despair. Why so nasty? Has bad grades and laughable board scores twisted your poor soul into a ball of hate and anger? Maybe you can explicate more specifically on the transformative nature of your idiocy. Other than petrifying your puny mind, does stupidity manifest itself in your physical appearance as well? Perhaps you can include a photo to illustrate, so we can laugh at you like we laugh at preppystud.

Lastly, is your conclusive paragraph. Outline your conspiracy theory concisely and in authoritative sentences. Is there evidence that The Man is keeping you down? Is there a puppet regime behind Ross, bent on world-domination through scamming the Department of Education? Are all the Deans evil robots from the future? Your ranting and raving is sounding more and more ridiculous everyday you post.

Perhaps you can suggest some solutions to Ross' more pressing, current problems? Being a productive member is a good thing, you see. We are all getting tired of your crap.

attrition

The attrition rate may be high, but you have to look at why.

My entering class was around 300. 100 of them left before the first mini and before the first month was over, in fact I saw a lot of people leaving after the first few days because they couldn't cope with the island life. Some people don't realize how hard medical school is and leave before the first mini. but atleast they give you the chance! That leaves 200... and out of that 150 finished.

Now, about Ross accepting well qualified students... that's another story. Are they qualified, may be yes, may be no.. but that is the beauty of Ross and other established caribbean schools- even if you are not qualified (to US standards of admission), they will still give you a chance to become a medical doctor. Now does Ross profit?, yes, but so do you!!!!

You just have to prove it, by showing how much you want it by determination, persistence, discipline, and hard work. Brains will help, but devotion will pull you through.
