FREAK!!! i am thinking about doing a few rotations in NY but i dunno where to do them and I dont know how I am gonna fill in all that space. Plus I dont know where I should live in NY if I even decide to go there. I read around and there are alot of mixed opinions about many different places. Furthermore, many of the rotations in NY are getting filled up.

This sux, this really sux. Im so confused.

predicament

I believe you can also do a pulmonary elective there. However, since pulm is a subspecialty of IM you would have to do IM first. What you need to do is do some free electives like path, anesthesia, neuro, etc to fill in the space. Ross also has a list of other free electives you could do until you do IM. You are in a tough spot wanting JP and having to wait so long to start. You could also try some stuff in Baltimore as I have heard the rotations there can be good. if it makes you feel better your predicament is a common one that many people have dealt with before. that is one of the drawbacks to being picky about where you want to do clinicals. Of course, it would be nice if we had more options in the first place.
I still remember countless times being told on the island that there were more clinical spots than students to fill them. It seems like maybe that was the case a few years back, but not so anymore with the larger class sizes coming thru. When I entered clinicals (June 2003), you could still get stuff you wanted. But as I progressed thru I noticed how clincals were becoming increasingly crowded. Unfortunate for you guys still making your way thru. Good luck and keep your head up! It will ALL be over before you know it.

New Sub-Forum developed re. clinical sites!!

Hi, folks!! A sub-forum has been developed in an effort to continue the preservation of information about Ross clinical sites in the U.S. I will try to transfer as much info to it as possible from this thread previously developed for the same purpose. If new threads are posted on the Ross Forum about the topic, I will transfer them to here to the appropriate thread. We can keep individual threads about each clinical site, and it will hopefully aid you in knowing a little more about each hospital. I will moderate the sub-forum, so keep it clean and follow the TOS.

I'm locking this sticky to prevent further posting on it, so please refer to the subforum. Thanks for your understanding.

Best wishes to all of you!!
Dru

This thread is being "unstuck" due to the fact that we have the subforum which contains more up to date info.
