Question on post-ross interview
Hello all,
I have just come back from an interview in Miami with Dr.--. Coming in, I knew that I was lucky to be granted an interview based on my MCAT scores. Let's just say they weren't great. Once I arrived, I felt like I was belittled, and scourged against my score. I was even told to retake the MCAT and reapply. So, why did they waste my time and grant me an interview? Do they grant everyone an interview? My question is, why did they(ROSS) interview me then?? Do they enjoy people wasting $600 for a weekend, and miss school for an interview that has no purpose, but to tell you that you don't ave what it takes? I was baffled! I think the interview was specious, and the interviewer was dopy, and showed no respect. So the question is....did I get rejected, or can I still get accepted? Thanks, Jake the Snake Moloney |

post-interview
I think the purpose of the interview is to see...based on your personality and attitude if you are truly determined to be a physician. Believe it or not...but my MCAT was not all that great either and I had originally applied for the september 04 term in June. (I know it was kind of late). But once I was called for the interview, I brought up my MCAT scores myself and told them that they did not correctly measure my potential. I said that I do not accept them and don't accept the school to either. Therefore I was willing to retake them. I also told them why I thought I did so poorly and what I was going to do to correct that. All these things had a powerful impact on my interviewer. Indirectly he advised me to cange my application term for Jan 05. So...maybe ...you can call your interviewer and be a nag...ask if you can change your term..or is it possible to get into medprep..(not that you want medprep) but just to show them how badly you want to be given this opportunity. Ross is funny when it comes to admissions...see if you can change your entrance term...and maybe you can strengthen you application by doing other things in the mean time. That is if you want to go through the hassle. But I wish you luck.

You got in.
You probably got in. Worst case scenario, they might offer you MedPrep. By the way, don't give out personal info like your name, place/date/time of your interview, etc. You'll be surprised who reads these forums.

i suspect you will get med prep
One of my best friends is currently a student at Ross. Her grades were not good, and her mcat was even worse. She was granted an interview and from what she told me, she was grilled about her grades and mcat scores, however she maintained a good attitude and explained her motivation. She was accepted into the med prep in Jan this year and then continued on into the med school
Dont get frustrated yet, as long as your comported yourself well and showed drive. They will either accept you or put you in med prep In hope I helped Envivany |
