    question on ACGME rotations

I know that some states require all cores and electives to be ACGME approved, and some states with the requirement allow umbrella rotations covered if the hospital has a FM ACGME approved rotation. Does the FM umbrella only cover the other cores? For example, would a radiology elective done at a hospital with a ACGME FM be covered, or are radio electives only good for places like Texas if there is a radio residency there?

usually IM will count for things like Cardio, GI, Endo, etc. FM will not cover things like Rads, Anesthesia, etc.

Just to clarify about the IM thing. If a hospital has an ACGME approved IM residency, then any IM sub-specialty, like Cardio, Endo, etc, would be considered ACGME also? I am trying to make sure I am still good for a Texas license, and the information is somewhat convoluted.

The same with AOA approved rotations. It seems that Texas will allow ACGME and AOA approved rotations, but I am just trying to double check.

You cannot use FM for anything but FM - plain pure and simple when it comes to Texas! The law is clear - your rotation must have been completed in a hospital that has an ACGME or AOA accredited residency in the SAME subject.
