Repeat or transfer to other school

    Hi everyone,

I just found out that I failed on my first block of my first semester by one point; and I don't know if I should just repeat or going to other medical schools like AUA.
My biggest concern about repeating is that the school will kick me out if I fail again in the future. Imagine if for some reason I fail again in the third or forth semester, that will leave me with a huge amount of debts.

So for this case, I don't know whether I should repeat or go to other medical schools.

    Any advice?

and, I am just wondering if any of you know how many percent of repeaters can complete the basic science.

    Thanks

    Well,

I don't mean to underestimate AUA, but I heard that their program is not an accelerated program like Ross.
And, I am guessing that they won't kick you out if you fail 2 semester like Ross ( please correct me if I am wrong).

    Thank you.

Please message me too, Dionysis 007.

And do you know how many percentage of those repeaters complete all the basic science?

    Thanks

Nope, won't correct you because I don't know. It's your job to find out. Accelerated or not, it'll be difficult at ANY medical school if you don't improve your study habits and find out what weaknesses caused you to fail. It makes the most sense to stick with Ross. If you fail again and get kicked out, AUA will still take you. This really is a no brainer.

So was the OP playing too much streetfighter or something? Anyways....

Ryu the issue you have presented here is quite a silly one to be honest. Staying in the med school you are at (whether its Ross or another school) or transferring to a lower tier carib school is a dumb question. If you have sense, you stay at the school you are at. Its bad enough being a Ross student you dont want to be a kid that transfered to a lower tier school as its going to look silly and not very cute on your residency application. Since you are concerned about failing again and having a huge debt, the real question in your mind should be whether you should even continue this pursuit at all. I am not trying to put you or anyone else in your situation down, but this should be the question for you guys. First semester is the easiest semester and it will only get harder. So make sure you have the desire, interest and determination to continue on with this 4 year program where you will go through many struggles and headaches (no matter how good you are).
