shah_patel_pt:

Why are you so concerned about who got an "a" in behavoral science. Was is that difficult? Or did you get an A and thought no-one else is as amart aas you were in the class?

I dont know why you are so upset. (Maybe I should ask you the SIGECAPS questions)

I was just curious to know, since not many people get A's in that class.

And no, I did not receive an A in that class.

I got an "A" in the course... in the May-August 2002 semester. I also got an "86" on the shelf exam. Does that make you feel better/worse/indifferent about your grade? Does it really matter what someone else gets? I know people who got straight "A"s in the pre-clinical sciences in Dominica and then barely broke 200 on Step 1. I know of others who were "B" and "C" students who cracked 240.

Don't worry so much about other people's grades. This fixation now will translate later into your worrying how much more (or less) your colleagues are making than you are. You will become a very unhappy person if you are constantly trying to "keep up with the Joneses".

Just my advice.

Wow! You did a full blown psycho-analysis! No wonder you got an A+.

Thanks for the advice.

Shah,

I'm not trying to condescend, if your reply was intended to be sarcastic (very hard to tell on an Internet forum), but simply offer you a different way of looking at it. I hope you did well in the course and will ultimately do very well on Step 1, too.

Point is, some people find certain courses very easy and other courses very difficult. This isn't the same for everyone (i.e., I really struggled in Anatomy but breezed through Behavioral). I just decided early on not to worry about other people's performance, and to focus on myself. So far, this has worked brilliantly for me. I have a friend (also a current MS4 at Ross) who is obsessed with how other people are performing and, more importantly, their perception of her abilities. She's a clear over-achiever and makes herself miserable. I never want to be like that, and I hate to see people I like create needless frustration and angst in their life.

So, I didn't mean to psychoanalyze or condescend to you or anything. Not my intent. If I offended you, I'm sorry.
