    Failing

I learned yesterday that I failed my 1st semester at Ross. Are there any other ppl on here who have had to repeat and can you tell me what happens next? I'm very curious/nervous and Dr. L was really not that much help when I called her today. Am I automatically given the chance to repeat, do I have to do labs over etc?

    Thanks!!

Do you mind if I ask? Was it just one block that you were below MPS in? or 2?

If it's just one block, you should be eligible to repeat. Go find/email anyone in academic success dept to explain the process to you, esp. PO'C. From what I understand, when you repeat, you may or may not have to take the practicals again (you would've needed an A on the practical to be exempt and they reuse that grade or something), and you will have 2 hrs or so of mandatory cognitive skills/week for the entire semester.

I haven't repeated, but I know a lot of people who have, and what they've told me over the semesters is that the most important thing is to figure out what went wrong and fix it, and use your new skills for all future semesters, because what you don't want to have happen is for you to pass 1st this time, and then end up not passing 2nd. So you really need to work on figuring out what went wrong, because 3 pts under is significant, and you're going to need to re-think your entire study strategy. That being said, I have had friends who did great in their repeat semester and beyond, and they will be great Drs.

I hope that helps. Good luck, and don't be discouraged! And reach out to your friends, they are your support group.
