    shipping question via Tropical shipping

I am some specific questions that I could not on the forum:

    1) Does Tropical shipping sale barrels? I mean I have called 2 times and they say they do not sell them (I have one but in case I need one right away) and people here (valuemd) say they do sell it. Has anyone recently shipped by getting a barrel from them ( I live in NNJ)?

    2) The barrel I have (got it from ****** Popola & Sons Inc, a 77 gallon for $20 cash, they do not take credit), and was wondering about the locking style of the barrel (in how it is different from the ones you get from Tropical shipping, that is if they sale it).

The barrel I have has that huge ring that is the size of the lid. So you tighten the ring my closing the hing horizontally so the ring and rim of the lid are sealed. Will this thing sap open during transport? Should I duct tape the ring and lid together after snapping the ring and lid together?

    3) Does Tropical shipping give you a lock of some sort, or should I buy my own (and where I can get one)?

    4) Last one, does Tropical give you a shipping label to place on the barrel, or do I just print the Ross Housing address and tape it to the barrel?

THey do not sell barrels anymore...but obv you know this because they told you twice that they do not. They will direct you to a place where you can get them a few miles away, which it sounds like you did, so I am a lil confused why you care if they sell barrels, because you have one.

Just tighten the lid and duct tape it. THey are going to cut it at customs anyway. The hole is so small it isn't even worth putting a lock on it. If they want to steal you things, they will just do it when they take stuff out to determine what to charge you.

I believe you can get a lock at walmart if you really need one. Tropical shipping is not going to provide you with anything besides a means to ship your barrel.

They tell you write on the side of the barrel with a marker with your address on it.

Wow. Thanks occam for answering all my questions, you cleared up things for me. Oh, and the reason about buying the barrel from troppical was because if my family had to send me something they would not have to drive around to get the barrel then drive up to the shipping place, help save time. But I guess that does not matter anymore since they stopped keeping empty barrels for purchase.

    Thanks again.
