Thread: Saginaw Spots

Hello!
I'm considering transferring to Ross for 5th..what are the requirements besides the comp? Are the Saginaw spots hard to get into? Are transfer students allowed to complete their last semester here? Is this site offered for all three terms during the year? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Transferring into 5th is I'm pretty sure 99.9% not going to happen at Ross or any other established medical school. The Michigan spots vary from year to year, but this time around it was probably 90+% got it if they wanted it. Last semester, I know they could only fill half the spots because no one wanted to go!

Why don't you call Ross Admin and find out with 100% certainty the answers to your questions? Ugh.

To the OP - I think it would be near impossible for a transfer to get into the Michigan program. It's pretty competitive and there are only 60 spots, all going to Ross students. Miami however, is a possibility. If you've completed basic sciences though, why not just write the Step and transfer into clinicals?

Hmm where do people get their stats from??

I'm pretty sure you HAVE to go to Miami if you transfer into 5th. Search around, but I'm pretty sure you can't go anywhere else but Miami if 5th semester is your first semester at Ross....but then again, that was also when all of the Saginaw spots were filled, so who knows now.

also why transfer to Ross? If you started at a school that doesn't have all 50 state approval than transfering to Ross won't get you that either. Also you have to explain this in Residency Interviews. If you were at AUC, SABA, or SGU why the transfer?

I heard this semester was a Michigan semester, there were only 60 spots and from classmates I heard varying numbers of applicants from 110-150.

Ross is approved in all states. Medic doesn't know what he is talking about.
