Where can I get 75 gallon barrels in California???

Our members don't see this ad.
Does anyone know a company that sells the 75gallon barrels in California. I am having an extremely hard time finding them and with the cost of shipping it is more cost effective for me to use 75 gal barrels.

Uline.com has 55 gallon barrels, which is what I used. They are located in Southern California. However, they will deliver them to you.
I was not able to find 75 gallon barrels.

Southern California? You won't find one.
Norcal? Should be able to get your hands on one.

If you are in socal what you want is a bulk container. It was $400 to ship a 475lb bulk container that was 48x48x40(height). A bulk container is a cardboard box iand will run you about $50. Skip the pallet option. You won't need it.

I bought 8 medium sized moving boxes from Uhaul for another $15 and packed those in to the bulk container. Surprisingly, I still had a bit of space inbetween the boxes and I filled that with pillows. Since the container is too large to transport in a car I did a test fit at home and then took the 8 moving boxes + unassembled bulk container in a station wagon to Tropical Shipping in Los Angeles. I assembled it there(took about 5 minutes) with the help of their staff who put metal cables around the side to keep the box from flexing and to keep the lid on.

Shipping the bulk container was surprisingly cheap compared to barrel shipment. that much more expensive and provided the space of about 398 gallons...about 7 55lb barrels. I was quoted $250/barrel by tropical.

I don't think you have that right. Usually it's not a per barrel price for tropical.. you pay for the amount of cubic feet you use up and I forget what their minimum is but it's the equivalent of 2 barrels.. We sent 3 55 gallon barrels from Toronto for $230USD. The bulk container thing you did was a better deal, but good lord! I'm glad we didn't bring that much stuff here It's hard to find room to store what we shipped in our 3 barrels.

FYI - if anyone gets any barrels that had food in them and smell, make sure you pack any linens and pillows in space bags. The space bags won't do you any good on the island (who has a vacuum in Dom?) but they will keep your stuff from smelling like the food and you won't have to wash it once you get it here. Our barrels were previously used to ship relish and mustard and after 3 weeks on a boat in the hot sun all of our sheets and pillows smelled teeeerrible.

I live in San Francisco and have had no luck finding a 75gallon barrel. If anyone knows of anything in the greater Bay Area that would be extremely helpful. I wish i had easier to access to socal but alas im not willing to make that 8 hour drive there and back

Is there any internet source that sells 75 gallon barrels? I live in Ohio and Tropical Island said it would cost $270 to pickup a 100 lb. 75 gallon barrel and ship to Miami + $88 to ship it to Dominica. Cheaper to do it this way rather than go to Miami and rent a hotel for a few days and ship from there.
