Books for 5th

Other than first aid, are there any texts anyone can recommend for 5th semester?
Thanks

there will be a small pocket-size textbook sell by ross during first week of the semester, but it's not that useful so save your money. also another spiral printout notebook for Biostat, $25. I highly recommend to buy this book because you will be allowed to use it for Biostat exam.

I agree, if you want to buy the clinical handbook that is recommended, just buy it on Amazon or Half.com for $10 instead of the $30 or $40 the school charges. I didn't find it very useful.

The Biostats book is sold by the school for around $25 a few weeks before the Biostats exam. I found it very useful for the exam.

I kept my kaplan pathology in by backpack all semester, and read along when Dr. C lectured. It helped out a lot preparing for step 1.

where are you going to 5th?

For Miami, you really dont need any specific book other than first aid- also you might want to buy Harrisons internal med if you like reading and if u prefer paper copy (you have free access to it online on campus though)

Other than that, just hold on to your basic science favorite books so you can go back to them during your lecture reviews for the exams and USMLE preping you are doing during the semester

(Available through AccessMedicine online). The 17th Edition Hardcover will be published in March 2008--ISBN-10: 0071466339

To be honest, access medicine has everything you need and more.

And yea - our tuition paid for it (semesterly "SGA" fund) but only the Bahamas campus got their gift. I tried getting a hold of the people responsible but of course no luck.
