out of curiosity, do you use your anatomical snuffbox in the process of snuffing? ha.
but seriously, i thought copenhagen was fine tobacco for oral usage....snuff is for the nose. so unless you're a pirate or from colonial times, it's going to be hard to find that around...anywhere. if you're looking for what i think you're looking for, there's skoal in 7-11 behind the counter I believe |

I dipped Copenhagen and smoked cigarettes all through college and I don’t know if I could have gotten through biochemistry without it. Dipping, you could say, was a passion of mine; it brought me a little bit of joy each day. However, I quit dipping about a year and a half ago and quit smoking about 6 months ago and I haven’t looked back. So, just because people smoke and dip now doesn’t mean they will continue to do so. It takes serious time and commitment and studying medicine isn’t a real motivator to quitting. My point is, RELAX guys. Let the man have his dip and don’t give him a bunch of hullaballoo about quitting. I say quit when you’re ready but if you want to smoke a cigarette or dip, that’s your prerogative.

Half the Doctors and nearly all the nurses and techs in my ER smoked.... some of them enjoyed skydiving.... lots of them popped off guns, off-roaded, skiied, etc. Before I came down here I had a motorcycle that could blow the doors off of most Ferraris (see avatar of a burnout on said bike). I know it was dangerous, but it was more fun than blowing lines off a hooker's nipple; just like I'm sure the OP understands the high risk of oral cancer associated with dipping.
That we're trying to become physicians doesn't mean that we should become Puritans (obviously there are some limits, like practicing while intoxicated). It's okay to enjoy dangerous pursuits, to live a little; I'm sure some of you enjoy alcohol once in awhile. It would be swell if we were all paragons of health to which our patients could aspire, indeed it might serve to persuade the occasional pt into compliance. But I'd rather have a doughy skilled physician than an incompetant Adonis. Picard grocery has a solid selection of Skoal long cut, and as mentioned before Bros. and Bob's both carry a lmited stock as well (I've only seen Copey at Bob's). I don't know if it's the heat or the long transport of the stuff, but every can I've gotten down here has been pretty dried out. Now if you'll excuse me, it's time to throw in a lipper and study. |
