news flash: grades at 4

Before, the grades rolled out through the day, upper classmen getting theirs first, and first semesters left to stew in their juices to the last hour. But this time they all get released at 4. So the library will stay open till 5pm to let people check their grades.
This is going to be one busy hour.

Yet another fellow student just asked me how many people do I think failed 3rd semester. I replied
"How should I know ? It's like someone just diagnosed with cancer asking you what are their odds. Statistics are moot when applied to individuals. From a doctor to a patient, I would have told you something empathetic and kind and supportive. But from one future doctor to another, I'll just say 'Deal with it!' "

freak out

I don't know if the following memo was actually posted, I walked by all the offices myself and didn't see it. But it's a funny story never the less:

. . .

There was a memo posted outside an admin office, said something like

'dear 3rd and 4th semester students stop harrassing your teachers-Dr. Laville can not see you either- your teachers know nothing-wait til Fri- there is no reason why more than 200 students can't go to Miami-this has been confirmed with *********- there is no set number of students that need to fail these semesters-granted all are doing well- all can move on to Miami...'

Tne only thing you can be sure of is no more then 15% of the class can fail any course,

the way it is

And rarely do more than 10-15% of all the students in one semester fall behind due to academic performance.
