510 points My advice is to get used to it. It comes and goes with no apparent connection to weather or anything. I remember the time I was taking a shower and had soaped myself up and had shampoo in my hair. All of a sudden, the water cut out. I had to go to ICM lab or something mandatory like that. I spent like a half an hour trying to figure out how to get the soap off me. Finally the water came back on and I got hit with water that was pure mud. Apparently a pipe had gotten clogged and they had to clean it out,and they blasted the lines clean. I think I got out dirtier than I went in. Man, I miss the island.
Then again, I like to think of anything stupid I've done as a "learning experience." It makes me feel less stupid. PJ O'Rourke.
I've been drinking the water clear or brown (and eating at the shacks) everyday, no problems ya'll
510 points Keep your fingers crossed about the no problems.....after having "Diarrhea Day" yesterday (8 hours about GI problems...mostly diarrhea), I'm surprised we don't get it more often than we do down here
While we are enjoying this tropical paradise, the world economy is collapsing.
Do Doctors get paid chickens if the economy goes into a recession?

Are we talking real chickens or the "chickens" they sell on the island?
510 points I did the same thing last semester... I would always use tap water to mix with my protein shake after I worked out, I'd eat the shacks all day, etc...
then during mini 2 all hell broke loose in my GI tract and with that came 3 trips to the bathroom and lots of awkward noises of the my stomach during a pretty difficult mini. My new rule of thumb is to make my own food and only drink bottled water for the 2 days prior to the mini.Also, you might want to wash your plates off when you take them out of the cupboard... you never know what kind of drama was going on in there the night before.
"This serious business. OK? Are you listening? This no joke."
Mini->stress->depressed immune system->?
