Yes, ppl have transferred into Ross with advanced standing from another Caribbean school. I know two ppl in my class that transferred into 2nd semester and another who transferred into 3rd semester.
Many would argue though that a Caribbean to Caribbean transfer will look bad once it is time to apply for residency. Also keep in mind that if you do transfer, but do so from a school that is not accredited in all 50 states, you will only be able to obtain licensure from the states that recognized the school you transferred out from. Before you make a decision, you'll need to carefully balance out the pros vs the cons on transferring.

511 points so you are saying that if you transfer from ROSS to another caribbean school which is not accredited in all 50 states, you will still be able to obtain licensure in all 50 states since you started at Ross??
No, if you start at another school that is NOT approved in all 50 states and then transfer to Ross, since your entire education did not take place in an institute that is accredited in all 50 states, you cannot practice in all 50 states. Same works in reverse. If you started at a school that is accredited in all 50 states but did not complete your entire education in an institute that is accredited in all 50 states, you cannot practice in all 50 states.

513 points In the case of Texas and Cali for example, the more difficult states, one would not be able to be licensed, as their ENTIRE medical training was not completed at an institution approved by the state.

511 points Please also keep in mind that Ross will NOT accept you for a transfer if you have failed at another institution.
From their FAQ section:
What percentage of Ross students have been dismissed from other international medical schools?
None. Ross University does not admit students who have been dismissed from other international medical schools.
transferred into 5th semesters after passing step 1 ... Id recommend transferring before step 1 though
(I do recommend transferring if you can as Ross has been great so far)

Good info.....However, I called the admission's office and they said they will not accept transfer students from other Caribbean schools. Anyone has any idea from which schools in Caribbean does Ross accept students?

510 points i know someone who transferred into 3rd (or was it 2nd?)from George Washington. he's super shady about the story of why they dismissed him but as we know a certain someone used to be a Dean there. the rules are so mutable

i also emailed Ross and asked about transferring after basics. the admissions lady said no they dont accept from most schools, she didnt specify, but she probably meant you can only come in from the other 3.
however, this makes no sense to me, since if you do well enough on STEP 1 anyway, you have potential to transfer into a state school. so im guessing that she is just saying what she is told to say, but if you do fine on STEP 1, Ross would probably accept you. its not like they really deal with you much anymore anyway, you pay them and go do rotations at a hospital in the US. its pretty much a win-win for them...

511 points that all just sounds like Ross is just trying to discourage everyone from going to a non-Big 4 school (or whatever the 4 are called) for like half the cost and a better island and then transfer into Ross in time just to take advantage of the better name in the end. But I'm sure they wont turn down like a transfer SGU or AUC student with a great STEP 1 and GPA and a legit reason. I know someone who transferred into Ross after 3 semesters I think but that was a few years ago so it doesn't count.
