How often do you guys use your flashlights while on the rock?

Curious before I buy a nice one.

I have 4 flashlights, lol. Overkill.

1 small flash light which i have on my bookbag to skip mud puddles at night
1 big one for home for when the lights goes out or im too lazy to turn on the light.
1 back up
1 key chain flashlight incase i forget my small flashlight. also good for when you come home late at night and you need to find your key hole.

I didn't buy anything expensive, I just got a set which they sell at home depot or costco.

I used mine maybe 4-5 times. I used the keychain light that they gave us when walking short distances at night. Only used the Mag when the power went out and I was too lazy to go to campus.

Depending on where you live and the hours you keep, you might use yours everyday.

A few small ones should be fine. The LED flashlights conserve batteries and often have high/low settings to stretch battery life further. Some people where content to use the illumination from their cellphones. We really liked having an everready "shake" flashlight that never needed batteries as a back up in case of longer power outages etc. and we were really pleased by how durable it was, it was even used undersea on multiple occasions.

Flashlights are useless, you'll end up stepping in mud and cow dong no matter how careful you are.

For the most part if you let your eyes adjust for a minute you can see well enough to avoid major potholes/cow dung etc. in the dark. The problem is when some idiot shines a flashlight in your face and you're then blind for another 2-3 minutes.
