Pgy-1

Well now that it is july 4th, I was wondering how all our recent grads are liking their intern year so far. It's fun stuff, eh? Not stressful in the least is it? It seems like just the other day I was starting my internship, boy it goes fast!
So, lets hear some feedback from you guys now that the party has finally started. It will envigorate those that are still in school and give hope to those applying.

Well my program was nice enough to give interns 4th of july weekend off, so I have some time to reply. I can describe internship as of now as completely terrifying. There is an overwhelming amount to learn, from the computer system, to when and what to dictate, to all the ** required from HR, and Med ed, on top of the medical knowledge required to learn. I feel like a complete idiot most of the time. Since i am in a surgical specialty there is alot of technical/procedural stuff to know and I feel like a fish out of water in the OR. I actually was so nervous the other day I forgot how to gown and glove, adding to my already low self esteem. LOL. On a lighter note, I am really loving it so far although I still don't feel like a doctor, I know it will come in time. Hope every one else is doing well.
