Attendance for incoming students

Our members don't see this ad.
This is just an educated guess on my part but I think some (not all) Ross professors will really start to enforcing an attedance policy. Reason I think this is because today I just found out that Ross is now requiring new incoming students to buy the audience response clickers (the actual physical clickers that are handheld). I talked to a few incoming 1st semester students and they told me this.

So it doesn't take a large leap of logic to surmise that some professors will use these clickers (again that new students are REQUIRED to buy) to take attendence.

Is it also for upper semesters too? Where did they buy the clickers from?

How are clickers going to work better than turning point on the laptops?

The clickers were bought on campus, and done at the same time you had your computer set up with IT.

During orientation they said the clickers would only be used in order for instructors to judge how well they had tought a topic, or what needs to be gone over etc.

That makes no sense whatsoever. Why take a step back? Like DEQ said, we have Turning Point on our laptops to "take attendance" and determine how "well" the professors are teaching. Maybe the glitches with Turning Point are too great that they need to revert to stupid clickers. Bah.

by clickers... do you mean the turning point software?
if so... then you can't really take attendance with it because unless they make owning a laptop mandatory for students... which i don't think they would at this particular time. who knows what the future will bring.

Clickers- standardized platform.

Laptop software- non-standardized platform. people have laptops configured in a bunch of different ways. in other words the software can go wrong in a bunch of different ways.
