Wait. Where do you see a student suing Ross? The thread title is rather misleading. Unless anastamos is suing Ross, I haven't heard of any lawsuit.

Also, if you have half a brain, you'd know it was risky. I mean personally, it's not that bad. But really, there are about a million other things worth complaining about. Also, seeing as that the the trail is OUTSIDE the gate, it probably ISN'T Ross property. So, it's on the Dominican government to do something about it (lol), not Ross. Technicalities and such.

but it isnt the proper path, it is around the fence that is designed to take you to the gate and then in the front door. Am I missing something? If you decide to walk to a building from the wrong direction and then find that on the back side of the building there isn't wheelchair access, can you really claim that a building isn't wheelchair friendly. Time to grow up guys - spend more of your energy on your studies

Actually I just found out about a month ago that the annex does not even belong to Ross. The annex is leased to Ross by a local (forgot his name) who owns a few other apartments on the island.

A friend of mine (American) who lived on a Caribbean island was in a car accident with an American tourist and was sued in the US. The tourist won big money.

"Proper" or not it's still used by most students, since there's a back door on the Annex directly in front of it. We've spent more time writing about it than it would take to fix it. I've seen people with bandages! should I tell them to grow up? Certainly not. I should say what any conscientious doctor would: "Sorry kid, you knew the risks." And while the students recover they can skip that DPS lecture on "Preventative Medicine."

why dont you guys send an email to the dean, instead of writing on this forum?

also you can always write this down on those surveys they send out.

The Annex shortcut isn't that bad. But...

I'm glad students make mountains out of mole hills. Regardless of how "whiny" it is or how stupid you think it is, improvements to our university may come out of it. So please stop minimizing a person's comment if it's a complaint YOU don't agree with. What's insignificant to you might matter to others.

JCU is right. When a mountain is being made of a mole hill and that mountain effects all the students, I will minimize any complaint which is insignificant in the long run. Why would you waste the admins time fixing a unofficial shortcut that saves MAYBE 1 min transit time, when there are much bigger issues to contend with. The students dont have to take the shortcut, and it doesnt even save that much time... wouldnt you rather have a fully paved bannana trail? Upgraded shacks? More study space?

I dont care how much this person cares about the shortcut, its a noncritical improvement which will tie up resources and only the 1st semesters will benefit, many who will fail anyways... tell you what, I'll stick a sign out there that says "use at your own risk".
