Thread: JULY 08' MERPers!

Hey everyone!
I am so excited about getting accepted into the July 08' Merp Program.
I would like to know who else out there will be joining me for the Merp Program experience! I am looking for roommates, looking to share helpful information, and meet some friends! Do anyone know if there is a list or something detailing the required books we need?

Is everyone finding it easy to get the program financed? I am looking for possible solutions! My credit or my folks' are not in great condition! LOL!

If you are waiting to hear from SGU, why not fax your Ross acceptance to them. It may speed up their response. It has worked for others.

Thanx, I might just try that! It is taking SGU forever to get back!

MERP acceptance =/= MD acceptance. Don't mean to burst your bubble, but I don't think SGU would be terribly impressed and grant you admission because of it. G'luck with MERP though. It'll get you where you want to be.

Ah, what is your point? Did I studder and say that they would be impressed? Your comment did not help me... You could have kept it to yourself.... Thank you anyway!

Actually, my comment did help. Or at least I hope it did. I was trying to impress upon you that you SHOULDN'T try and fax your MERP acceptance to SGU. It would be pointless. I was just trying to correct the omniscient cavalletti, who of course had to chime in without reading the first post or the topic of the thread.

My intentions weren't to offend you. I have plenty of MERP friends, and like I said, it'll get you to the rock.

Well actually, I was just trying to be nice. I was not actually going to fax them that information, besides I am not even sure if that is legal to do so! From now on, you might want to read the initial thread to get the entire scoop of all of the details! Are you a MERPer? Do u attend Ross or SGU?

It's perfectly legal, yup. Puts pressure on them to give you a final decision. And no, not a MERP'er. Yes, I attend Ross. Didn't mean to hijack the thread though, sorry haha. I'll be taking my leave now. Piece of advice before you hit the rock is to cherish the days before the real ride begins. Enjoy Miami and good luck!

Do u think you made the right decision by choosing Ross U? I am just thinking which would I choose if I was giving both opportunites!

From day one of lecture, I knew that I made a smart decision. But since I have no idea how SGU prepares its student for Step I, I can't make any comparisons. The faculty here is great though. Ultimately, both SGU and Ross will get you where you want to be. Just make sure you do your research on the specifics of each school (i.e. length of time on each respective island, Residency appointments, clinicals, etc).
