I forget which they are, but I think it is NM, TN and 2 or 3 others. There are plenty of states which will permit an AUA grad to practice without difficulty. G

Lets not forget that he is an AMERICAN CITIZEN . Thats a GREAT advantage . I have met several H1 visa doctors who failed their USMLE SEVERAL TIMES - six korean doctors and several other foreigners who required immigration sponsorship . Yes they got residencies . If oour country can award residencies to failing visa requiring foreigners , then
I see no reason why Rapahel as an AMERICAN CITIZEN should not get a residency as long as he finishes his MD and passes his boards.

Oh yeah, and just so you guys know - AUA is a very tough school. At least they had made it difficult to pass this last semester with the surplus of students, it has turned into another Ross for the incoming semesters as well. So be careful.

Med school is never easy . From what I am told , the main attributes that help students at AUA are the support / atmosphere / environmental factors .

I don't want to hijack the thread. I don't know if it's too soon to ask Raphael what mistakes were made exactly. It might help some of us avoid the same fate.

If you really want to know why I had some mistakes its because I was too distracted by my personal life and during third semester I suffered from major burnout. I needed a break, but I hesitated to take one. I should have gotten a medical leave and worked out my own problems. My advice to anyone is that adjusting to this island is difficult, but don't get distracted by life in general. Academically, I think I would have been ok, its just that sometimes we need time off to get our personal lives in order.

Also, I wanted to mention that you should be really careful in third semester. All of it is new and its too easy to get behind. Study everyday, and be cautious.

I think with 2 semesters under your belt you should reapply to Ross or appeal the dismissal and ask to repeat the semester. I'm not sure if that is even a possibility but that's my 2 cents. If staying at Ross is not a viable option then get into AUA or SMU etc. and move on! You know what happened to you now go make it better. Good luck

yo rafael, its important that you dont get distracted and "owned" again like you did the last semester. Its important to think about yourself sometimes as well, and not follow what someone else is dictating/mandating for you.

keep ya head up and g'luck in aua, jus dont get owned again

Did you have any problems before 3rd semester? I ask because I thought you have to fail 2 semesters before you can get kicked out.
