Help! got dismissed after 5th semester

I finished 5th semester but was suppose to talke the step 1 within 2 months after (because I had to take time off..it took longer--so thats why I had only 2 months after 8/07). The admission office says I have to re-apply now. I did have extenuating circumstances..family death and just found out basal cell carcinoma for myself... but just did not communicate with the school...my fault. Now, I am really nervous. Has anybody ever been in a similar situation? I would appreciate any sincere advice..thank you. I just want to take the step 1 and move on.

I really dont think its a very big deal, even without the circumstances they take you back, but with your current events you have nothing to worry about, just let them know what happened when you reapply, its just a way to get the application fee out of you again.
so just relax, take your step and do good on it.

if i were you id try speaking with someone higher up in the food chain like the dean of admissions and explain to them your circumstances because its shameless for them to be able to take you money and waste ur time with re-applying when you have been facing unexpected events in your life. i wish you the best of luck and good health

definitely contact someone higher up and appeal the decision....you have extremely unfortunate circumstances that the school should be understanding of. any u.s. school would be understanding of the same so I don't know why Ross would have a problem.

good luck and take care.

thank you

thank you for responding to my woes..I do feel a little better. I am going to contact the dean of admissions on Monday. Hopefully, they won't mandate the application fee..but I wouldn't be surprised if otherwise. Again, much appreciation to the responses!!!
