May Semester

I have a question in regarding the last day of classes for the May Semester. In our welcome packet, the last day of the semester is shown as August 22. I have seen some people say that the last day will be August 19th on the forum, and some people are leaving the island on the 20th. When is the first day that I can leave the island?

Your class's final is on August 19th. Get out of here on the 20th if you can. The only reason your welcome packet has the 22nd as the last day of the semester is because, for some reason, it's including when OUR last exams are going to be. Disregard that.

Here - I uploaded the exam schedule for you all. Take a look here:

Thank you so much for the info!!! I was able to bump my flight up to the 20th!!! Do you know when they will have the itinerary for September so I can plan accordingly for that flight as well. Thanks again jcu.

They'll probably put up the Sept. exam schedule within the first month of your arrival. It's a bit too early now. But, I can guesstimate that your last day will be Dec. 18th, since 2nd semester has the craziest (and longest) exam schedule.

Are you guys going to skip that?
I only have a verbal acceptance, still have not gotten my acceptance packet with details.
The last day to arrive on the island is May 4 and Orientation starts May 6. Any word on whether it was an April fools joke, or are you in??

I did not go through Austin Travel. They wanted to book me to a whole bunch of connecting flights from Houston to Miami or Dallas and then to San Juan. I went ahead and booked directly with continental and american airlines. So I have a direct flight from houston to san juan and then AA to Dominica.

I think even if you booked with Austin Travel, you can call AA personally. I called AA and they changed my flight date to the 20th without any charges. At the time I did it, they only had 7 more available seats on that flight. I called continental, and they also changed my flight date, but with a $50 fee. It was worth it considering I could leave Dominica on the 20th rather the 25th!!!!

Hope that helps.

Thanks ammundeep. I called AA and since I already used Austin Travel to book my flight, if i tried booking my flight directly it would've cost me like $163. So i just had to keep nagging Austin, but they've finally changed my date to the 20th--thank god!
Austin seems pricey and doesn't get back to you as promptly as you'd like them to. I think i'll use your approach for the next time around.
