You should turn in the letter by the deadline and make an appointment to meet with the committee. When you go to meet with the committee, be prepared to offer an explanation as to what was the cause of your performance and be prepared for them to ask you details about your story. In addition, you should make it clear that you have a plan of action to do well if you are given the chance to repeat. There is really a 50/50 chance that you will be able to make it through the committee, however, it also makes a difference as to what your circumstance is. If you failed a class you were on probation for and you didn't fail it by much and you passed your other classes you have a much better shot than if you failed 3 classes. Since there is a 50/50 chance, you should look into other schools that you can transfer to, just in case so that you don't waste time, if you are dismissed. I know you don't want to hear that, but you should always have a plan B, but pray that you don't have to use it. Good luck. I really hope it works out. I know this is a very difficult time, but just try and keep your head up and have lots of faith.

Sorry to hear that things didn't work out for you with the comp. If you are from Texas or California and need to transfer to another school that is approved, find out about AUC. I'm not exactly sure how things work in terms of transferring to their school, but I do know that they do 5th in St. Maarten. I know it would be inconvenient to go back to the Caribbean, but time flies and if you really want to finish med school, you should take the chance if they give it to you. Their fifth semester consists of going through Kaplan material and I think they take the comp at the end of their fifth semester, but from what I read passing score for the comp at AUC is a 58. If you got a higher score than that on the comp at Ross, considering that passing for us is a 64, then maybe you could even convince AUC to let you take the step. In addition, if you didn't even have to repeat any semester at Ross, that would also work in your favor and you should point this out when transferring. This is all based on what I've heard and read, and I'm not 100% on any of this, so if someone reads this and information is incorrect, please correct me. Hopefully some of this info helps.

AUC has made admission pretty tough over the last couple of years, I am not sure they would accept someone who failed out elsewhere. But I would still give AUC, SMU, and SABA a shot. Its worth trying.

I know of ross dismissed students who were accepted at AUC , SMU and SABA . The ones that still keep in contact indicate that they have progressed thanks to these schools giving them another shot .

I believe the OP was able to repeat.

I believe you need to prepare for this worst with this situation here, but don't lose hope either. Realistically, not many get through the committe unless they have a really good reason, and believe me they have heard them all before. I know some students who were able to repeat even though their grades were means for dismissal. I know some other students who were told by Dr L. that they would be fine and they got kicked out. These same students are at AUA and doing fine, but don't get caught up in what people tell you. Just be professional, honest, and don't break down and cry.

Best of Luck to ya'
